Holiday parties…If you’re like me, you have a ton of them to attend. And that, of course, means buying tons of gifts. Sometimes it’s fun to do a White Elephant game instead of the traditional gift exchanging. White Elephant game rules are simple: the host should instruct their guests to bring one wrapped gift and should also set a maximum of how much to spend (usually around $20.00). After the guests arrive at the party, they each draw a number. The guest with the first number goes first, and so on.
Once the first person chooses a gift, they unwrap it, making sure everyone sees what it is. Then the next person has the option to either take the first gift or to unwrap a new gift. It continues until all gifts are unwrapped.
The catch here is that a “White Elephant” gift should be something funny. Some type of non-serious item meant strictly for laughs. Sound interesting? I know!
I love funny novelty items, so this game is one of my favorites during the holidays. Some of the things I’m looking to buy and bring to parties are gifts like the Fifty Shades of Chicken: A Parody in a Cookbook, a funny cookbook, or the Sargent Art Classic Fine Tip Marker Pens in a Case, Set of 30 and Maybe Swearing Will Help: An Adult Coloring Book of Motivation, Puns & Cursing, Color and Laugh Your Way to Less Stress!“, an adult coloring book and markers.
The most important part of this game is to have fun! Bring a funny gift and enjoy yourself!
